Dr. Miguel Gomez is among the first cardiothoracic surgeons to successfully meet the challenge of mastering robotic surgery. Having experienced a notable difference in outcomes for his own patients, he set out to provide this state-of-the-art surgery option in his own practice.   • Chairman of Department of Surgery at Methodist West Houston Hospital – January 2012 to present
  • Co-Director of the Cardiovascular Robotic Institute of the Methodist Hospital System – November 2009 to 2011
  • Chairman of the Surgery Department at Memorial City Medical Center – January 2004 to December 2005
  • Director of Robotic Surgery at Memorial City Medical Center – January 2005 to February 2009
  • Associate Clinical Professor of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery with the University of Texas Health Science Center of Houston. – September 2001 to January 2010
  • President of the Harris County Medical Society-Western Branch. – January 2007 to December 2007
